How to install Vivado 2019.1 on Ubuntu

OS: Ubuntu 16.04.6 or Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS 64 bit

Vivado: Vivado 2019.1 (You need a Xilinx account to download the packages)


  • Press CTRL+ALT+t to open the terminal, then input:
chmod +x Xilinx_Vivado_SDK_Web_2019.1_0524_1430_Lin64.bin
sudo ./Xilinx_Vivado_SDK_Web_2019.1_0524_1430_Lin64.bin
  • Wait ~30s

  • Follow the steps in these pictures:

Input your account and password when you download Vivado 2019.1

You must agree all the licenses.

Don`t worry about the cable driver. I will show you later.

If the direction not exist, it will prompt you “do you want to creat it?”, you need to click yes.

  • Wait a few hours…

  • When it was install successfully, you need to install cable driver

Switch to the terminal, input:

cd /opt/Xilinx/Vivado/2019.1/data/xicom/cable_drivers/lin64/install_script/install_drivers/

then input:

sudo ./install_drivers
  • Ok!
    You finished it.
